Sinaia
Sinaia is a mountain town nestled in the Carpathian Mountains, located about a two-hour drive north of Romania's capital, Bucharest. Often nicknamed the Pearl of the Carpathians, it is famous for its royal history, stunning mountain landscapes, and premium ski slopes.
Some History:
17th Century | Sinaia originated with the construction of the Sinaia Monastery between 1690 and 1695 by the nobleman Mihai Cantacuzino.
19th Century | In 1866 when Prince (and later King) Carol I of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen arrived in the region. Captivated by the Carpathian mountain landscape, he selected Sinaia as his official summer residence
